My Stunning Nails – Review

*Press Sample*

Hey lovelies! Oh lawd, this week has been busy! Exams, studying, work, oh my! But you know what helps me relieve stress? Painting my nails, of course! And I received some new goodies to play with just in time!

Today, I have swatches for you from My Stunning Nails (MSN). MSN is an indie, 5 free, cruelty free nail polish brand that creates nail polishes of the month. The polish of the month sales for $5 until the next month’s polish is released. Pretty cool, right? They also have soaps, bath salts, etc. Lisa at My Stunning Nails sent me 5 nail polishes to review, so let’s get started! BTW, you can use my code PRLK15OFF to receive 15% off of a minimum of $5.

*All of the following swatches are applied over Bye, Girl! Latex Barrier (it doubles as a peel off base coat) and topped with Crystal Clear Top Coat (glossy).

*My rating is a 5 point scale based on whether the nail polish has a good formula (2 points), is opaque in 3 coats (1 point), is opaque in 2 coats (1 point), and is pretty in my opinion (1 point).

My Stunning NailsThe shop’s theme polish.

Description: This nail polish is described as an apple blossom pink with small fuchsia glitters, as well as tiny holo and iridescent glitters.

Application: Smooth application with no streaks. Easy to maneuver brush.

Opacity: Swatch shown in 3 coats. I could still see areas of my nails through it, so opacity wasn’t achieved. I would suggest maybe wearing a white undie before applying it. In my experience, nail polishes like this look more opaque over white. You could also try 4 coats if you want. Personally, I stop at 3 coats.

Availability: Available now.

Price: $9.95 USD

Overall thoughts: This is a pretty color, but I’m not a fan of it on myself. I love all the glitters in it; however, it is too sheer for my preference. I know that there are some people who like to wear sheer polishes, so please remember that this is my honest opinion based on my preference.

My rating: 3/5

Hope – Nail polish of April

Description: This nail polish is described as a reddish-purple with undertones of pink and blue. It has tiny holo and iridescent glitters.

Application: It applies smoothly with no streaks. The brush is easy to work with.

Opacity: Swatch shown in 3 coats. Again, I could still see parts of my nails, so opacity wasn’t achieved and I have the same suggestion for this nail polish as the first one.

Availability: Available now.

Price: $9.95 USD

Overall thoughts: Gorgeous color, love the glitters and undertones, but it is too sheer for me and I wish the holo was more prominent in it. I think this would work as a nice topper as well.

My rating: 3/5

Juicy Apricot – Nail polish of May

Description: This nail polish is described as a goldish-peach polish with chocolate glitter.

Application: Like the others; smooth application, easy to use brush, and no streaks.

Opacity: Swatch is shown in 2 coats with opacity achieved.

Availability: Available now.

Price: $9.95 USD

Overall thoughts: Y’all just don’t know how excited I was that this was opaque in 2 coats! Love the color; it is so unique and gives me a rustic vibe.

My rating: 5/5

Blowing Raspberries – Nail polish of June

Description: This nail polish is described as a pinkish-red raspberry polish with red and gold glitter.

Application: Again, no problems with application. Smooth with no streaks and easy brush.

Opacity: Swatch is shown in 3 coats. At first, it looked opaque; however, when I took a closer look, I could slightly see parts of my nails. With that being said, it’s not as sheer as the first two and the sheerness is almost unnoticeable, so I definitely think opacity can be achieved with a 4th coat or a white undie.

Availability: Available now.

Price: Currently $5 USD until August’s polishes are released.

Overall thoughts: Pretty color. I’m glad that it wasn’t as sheer as the first two, but it still isn’t completely opaque in 3 coats.

My rating: 3.75/5

Sa-fire – Nail polish of July

Description: This nail polish is described as a bright blue with touches of blue and silver microglitter.

Application: Exactly like the others; easy to maneuver brush, smooth, and no streaking.

Opacity: Swatch shown in 3 coats with opacity achieved.

Availability: August 1st.

Price: $5 USD for the month of August.

Overall thoughts: Pretty color and I was glad to achieve opacity.

My rating: 4/5
